PEG-MGF
PerformancePreclinicalAlso known as: Pegylated Mechano Growth Factor, PEGylated IGF-1 Ec, MGF, Mechano Growth Factor, IGF-1 splice variant
PEG-MGF (Pegylated Mechano Growth Factor) is a synthetic, PEGylated form of Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) — an alternatively spliced variant of IGF-1 produced locally in muscle and other tissues in response to mechanical loading or damage. MGF differs from systemic IGF-1 in that it has a unique E-domain peptide (the Ec peptide, or MGF peptide) that activates satellite cells (muscle stem cells) rather than IGF-1 receptor signaling.
Overview
At A Glance
PEG-MGF's unique Ec-domain peptide activates muscle satellite cells (Pax7+/MyoD+ cells) independently of IGF-1R signaling. This drives satellite cell proliferation and differentiation — the primary mechanism for adding new myonuclei to existing muscle fibers (myonuclear accretion…

PEG-MGF is researched primarily for its muscle satellite cell activation, tissue repair, and recovery applications.
