Synthetic cyclic heptapeptide characterized by an N-terminal acetyl group and a side-chain lactam bridge between its aspartic acid and lysine residues, which constrains the peptide into a conformationally rigid ring. Substitution of norleucine and D-phenylalanine for the native methionine and L-phenylalanine residues increases resistance to oxidation and improves handling stability.
