There is no established at-home or self-administration protocol for kisspeptin, and every human study to date has delivered it intravenously in a monitored clinical setting because of its minutes-long half-life. For orientation, the lowest-intensity exposures in the literature are single intravenous boluses of kisspeptin-10 around 0.3 mcg/kg, which reliably produced a brief LH rise in men [PMID:23153270]. At a research bench, the conservative approach is the lowest characterized dose, a single administration, and direct measurement of the LH/testosterone response - rather than assuming a subcutaneous injection reproduces intravenous data, which it may not given the rapid clearance.

    Standard

    Higher single-bolus exposures in the literature reach about 1 mcg/kg of kisspeptin-10 intravenously, which raised LH across adult, middle-aged and older men (with the testosterone response strongest in younger men) [PMID:30590872]. Kisspeptin-54, the longer 54-amino-acid form, has been infused intravenously at roughly 1 nmol/kg/h for about 75 minutes in brain-imaging and sexual-response studies [PMID:36287566]. These are controlled research parameters, not recommendations. Repeated or continuous dosing risks KISS1R desensitization, so more-frequent administration does not linearly increase the effect and can blunt it.

    The most intensive published regimens use continuous intravenous infusion of kisspeptin-10 (for example about 4 mcg/kg/h for up to 11 hours), which increased LH pulse frequency and raised testosterone in hypogonadal men with type 2 diabetes [PMID:23153270]. In IVF, kisspeptin-54 has been given as a single subcutaneous dose to trigger oocyte maturation in place of hCG, chosen specifically for its lower ovarian-hyperstimulation risk [PMID:28393578]. These are specialist clinical-research procedures that require hormone monitoring and fall outside unsupervised use. There is no validated advanced stack or long-cycle protocol for kisspeptin; its pharmacology - pulsatile signaling, rapid clearance, and desensitization with overexposure - argues against chronic tonic dosing.

    Side Effects & Safety

    Because kisspeptin works through the body's own reproductive axis, tolerability in short-term clinical studies has been good and no serious adverse events were reported at the doses tested [PMID:36287566, PMID:28186349]. Reported or plausible effects include transient flushing or warmth, mild infusion- or injection-site reactions, headache, and short-lived changes in LH/testosterone or, in women, cycle timing. High or continuous dosing can desensitize the kisspeptin receptor and paradoxically blunt the LH response. Long-term and repeated-dose safety in humans has not been established, and there is no safety data for unsupervised subcutaneous self-administration.

    Contraindications

    Research use only; not for human consumption. Kisspeptin directly stimulates the reproductive hormone axis, so it should not be used by anyone pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive outside medical supervision, nor by anyone with hormone-sensitive conditions (for example certain reproductive cancers) without specialist oversight. Its action on the HPG axis makes it inappropriate for minors. Anyone on hormonal therapy, fertility treatment, or with pituitary or reproductive disorders should not use it outside a controlled clinical setting. No validated dosing exists for self-administration.

    Doses in the literature are weight-based and intravenous: kisspeptin-10 IV boluses of about 0.3 to 1 mcg/kg, or IV infusions around 4 mcg/kg/h; kisspeptin-54 IV infusion around 1 nmol/kg/h, or a single subcutaneous dose in IVF. For a 70-90 kg subject a 0.3-1 mcg/kg bolus is roughly 20-100 mcg, which is the basis for the listed range - but that is an intravenous research figure, and the minutes-long half-life means a subcutaneous injection of the same amount will not reproduce the same exposure. Kisspeptin-10 and kisspeptin-54 are not interchangeable milligram-for-milligram. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, keep material cold, and treat all handling as laboratory research.
