# VitalX Blend

Supplement: https://www.bodyhackguide.co/wiki#cat-supplement

Status

No published studies of the blend,, not approved for human use

Evidence

Not graded on a research bench yet

VitalX Blend is a liquid sold for research in a 10 mL vial at a stated 150 mg/mL whose label lists niacinamide 50 mg, thiamine HCl 50 mg, pantothenic acid 25 mg, choline 10 mg, inositol 10 mg, niacin 5 mg, biotin 100 mcg, folic acid 100 mcg and riboflavin 100 mcg.

Reviewed 4 November 2026

01 Overview

## What VitalX Blend is

The label gives no unit basis for these amounts, but they add up to about 150 mg, which matches the stated 150 mg/mL and suggests they are per mL. A PubMed search on 27 October 2026 found no published study of VitalX Blend or of this mix of B vitamins with choline and inositol. FDA-approved multivitamin injections for patients on intravenous nutrition contain several of the same B vitamins in a different composition, with no choline, inositol or nicotinic acid (Infuvite Adult label, FDA; Drugs@FDA).

### How it works

### What the label lists

The VitalX Blend label gives niacinamide 50 mg, thiamine HCl 50 mg, pantothenic acid 25 mg, choline 10 mg, inositol 10 mg, niacin 5 mg, biotin 100 mcg, folic acid 100 mcg and riboflavin 100 mcg, with a stated concentration of 150 mg/mL in a 10 mL vial. The listed amounts add up to 150.3 mg, consistent with amounts per mL, though the label does not say so. No study of these ingredients together was found in PubMed on 27 October 2026, so this section describes each one.

### Niacinamide and niacin (vitamin B3)

Niacin and its derivatives, such as niacinamide (nicotinamide), make up the vitamin B3 group, which the body uses to make NAD, a central coenzyme of energy metabolism (PMID: 41901171, PMID: 42514364). Niacin (nicotinic acid) causes skin flushing: it activates the receptor GPR109A on immune cells in the skin (Langerhans cells), which releases prostaglandins D2 and E2 that widen skin blood vessels (PMID: 19691622). See BodyHackGuide's niacin (https://www.bodyhackguide.co/compound/niacin) guide.

### Thiamine (vitamin B1)

Thiamine hydrochloride injection is FDA approved for thiamine deficiency and beriberi, and the approved uses include situations where rapid restoration of thiamine is needed, such as Wernicke's encephalopathy (thiamine hydrochloride injection label, ANDA 080556, FDA, version of 9 January 2026). See BodyHackGuide's thiamine (https://www.bodyhackguide.co/compound/thiamine) guide.

### Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5)

Pantothenic acid is the building block the body uses for coenzyme A; in 8 healthy men, a week of oral pantothenic acid with cysteine did not raise muscle coenzyme A, change fuel use or improve exercise performance (PMID: 22052867). See the pantothenic acid (https://www.bodyhackguide.co/compound/pantothenic-acid) guide.

### Riboflavin (vitamin B2)

Riboflavin is the core of the flavin coenzymes FAD and FMN, which enable the mitochondrial respiratory chain and fatty acid breakdown; exposed to light, riboflavin acts as a photosensitizer that generates reactive oxygen species (PMID: 42884673). See the riboflavin (https://www.bodyhackguide.co/compound/riboflavin) guide.

### Biotin (vitamin B7) and folic acid (vitamin B9)

Many laboratory immunoassays rely on the strong binding of biotin-tagged reagents to streptavidin, and excess biotin in blood can interfere with that binding (PMID: 28973622). Folic acid taken by mouth lowered the recurrence of neural tube defects by 72 percent in a large trial in women at high risk (PMID: 1677062), and the FDA label for folic acid injection notes that folic acid alone is improper treatment for pernicious anemia and other anemias in which vitamin B12 is deficient (folic acid injection label, ANDA 089202, FDA, version of 14 October 2024). See the biotin (https://www.bodyhackguide.co/compound/biotin) and folate (https://www.bodyhackguide.co/compound/folate) guides.

### Choline and inositol

Choline was recognized as an essential nutrient in 1998, with roles from cell structure to neurotransmitter synthesis (PMID: 19906248); intravenous choline chloride has been tested in patients on long-term intravenous nutrition (PMID: 11531217). Inositol, most often as myo-inositol, has been tested in randomized trials in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PMID: 36703143). See the choline (https://www.bodyhackguide.co/compound/choline) and inositol (https://www.bodyhackguide.co/compound/inositol) guides.

### Oral studies and an injection

The large trials of these vitamins used oral doses, usually far larger than the amounts on the VitalX Blend label; the niacin trials, for example, gave 1,500 to 2,000 mg a day (PMID: 22085343, PMID: 25014686). Because VitalX Blend is sold as a solution in a vial, oral supplement studies of its ingredients do not show what an injection of it would do, and no study measuring that was found in PubMed on 27 October 2026.

03 Safety

## VitalX Blend side effects and interactions

### Side effects

#### Common

- Intravenous thiamine: transient local irritation after about 1 percent of 1,070 doses in emergency patients (PMID: 2757284)
- Oral niacin: skin flushing caused by prostaglandin release (PMID: 19691622)
- Oral riboflavin: one case of diarrhea and one of frequent urination, both minor, in a 55-patient migraine trial (PMID: 9484373)

#### Serious events

- Injected thiamine: serious hypersensitivity and anaphylaxis, with deaths reported after intravenous or intramuscular use (thiamine hydrochloride injection label, FDA)
- Extended-release niacin with laropiprant: more serious adverse events than placebo, such as disturbed diabetes control, infections and bleeding, in a 25,673-person trial (PMID: 25014686)
- Biotin at high oral doses (10 mg and 300 mg a day in the studies): false results on biotin-based laboratory immunoassays (PMID: 28973622, PMID: 33222767)

### Who should not use it

Contraindications

A previous reaction to thiamine calls for caution, because the thiamine injection label warns of serious hypersensitivity and anaphylaxis, especially after repeated doses (thiamine hydrochloride injection label, FDA).

Read all the contraindications and cautions Show less

Vitamin B12 deficiency is a concern because folic acid alone is improper treatment for pernicious anemia, and folic acid above 0.1 mg a day may hide it while nerve damage progresses (folic acid injection label, FDA).

Diabetes is another concern: in HPS2-THRIVE, extended-release niacin given with laropiprant worsened diabetes control and increased new diabetes diagnoses (PMID: 25014686).

FDA labels for injectable thiamine, folic acid and multivitamin products warn that aluminum in those products can reach toxic levels with prolonged use when kidney function is impaired (thiamine hydrochloride and folic acid injection labels, Infuvite Adult label, FDA); VitalX Blend's label does not state an aluminum content.

Biotin at high oral doses (10 mg a day in the study) can cause false results in biotin-based laboratory immunoassays (PMID: 28973622).

### Interactions

1 pairing in our record: 1 to monitor.

- Biotin-based laboratory immunoassays
  Monitor
In 6 healthy adults taking 10 mg of biotin a day for a week, 9 of 23 biotin-based immunoassays, in a panel that included thyroid and parathyroid hormone tests, gave false results (PMID: 28973622); a PubMed search on 27 October 2026 found no study of injected biotin and laboratory tests.

07 Questions

## Frequently asked questions

What is VitalX Blend?

VitalX Blend is a liquid sold for research in a 10 mL vial whose label lists niacinamide, thiamine HCl, pantothenic acid, choline, inositol, niacin, biotin, folic acid and riboflavin at a stated 150 mg/mL. The VitalX Blend label gives no unit basis for its amounts, which add up to about 150 mg and so appear to be per mL.

Has VitalX Blend been studied?

No study of VitalX Blend or of its mix of B vitamins with choline and inositol was found in PubMed on 27 October 2026. The evidence behind VitalX Blend's ingredients comes from separate trials of each vitamin, most of them oral (PMID: 26488693, PMID: 1677062).

How does VitalX Blend compare with approved vitamin injections?

FDA-approved multivitamin injections for intravenous nutrition, such as Infuvite Adult, contain thiamine, riboflavin, niacinamide, dexpanthenol, biotin and folic acid together with vitamins A, C, D, E, K, B6 and B12 (Infuvite Adult label, FDA). VitalX Blend differs from those approved infusions because its label adds choline, inositol and niacin and leaves out the other vitamins. Single-ingredient thiamine and folic acid injections are also FDA approved (Drugs@FDA).

Are there safety warnings for injected thiamine, an ingredient of VitalX Blend?

The FDA label for thiamine hydrochloride injection warns that serious hypersensitivity and anaphylactic reactions can occur, especially after repeated doses, and that deaths have followed intravenous or intramuscular thiamine (thiamine hydrochloride injection label, FDA). In a study of 989 emergency patients, intravenous thiamine caused reactions after 1.1 percent of doses, almost all of them transient local irritation (PMID: 2757284).

Can the biotin in VitalX Blend affect blood tests?

In 6 healthy adults taking 10 mg of biotin a day for a week, 9 of 23 biotin-based immunoassays gave false results (PMID: 28973622). VitalX Blend's label lists 100 mcg of biotin, and a PubMed search on 27 October 2026 found no study of whether biotin given by injection affects laboratory tests.

Is VitalX Blend FDA approved or a dietary supplement?

VitalX Blend is not FDA approved, and Drugs@FDA lists no approved product with its composition (searched 27 October 2026). The FDA defines a dietary supplement as a product intended for ingestion, so the oral supplement status of B vitamins, choline and inositol does not extend to an injectable solution such as VitalX Blend (FDA, Questions and Answers on Dietary Supplements).

How many vendors sell VitalX Blend, and what does it cost per mg?

1 of the vendors BodyHackGuide tracks list VitalX Blend (1 listing). The lowest listed price BodyHackGuide has recorded for VitalX Blend is $49.99. No VitalX Blend listing recorded as in stock carries a milligram count, so BodyHackGuide states no price per milligram for VitalX Blend.

Which vendors have third-party COAs for VitalX Blend on file at BodyHackGuide?

BodyHackGuide holds no third-party certificate records for VitalX Blend. Each vendor page on BodyHackGuide shows how many certificate records BodyHackGuide holds for that vendor.

Choline and inositol Choline was recognized as an essential nutrient in 1998, with roles from cell structure to neurotransmitter synthesis (PMID: 19906248); intravenous choline chloride has been tested in patients on long-term intravenous nutrition (PMID: 11531217). Inositol, most often as myo-inositol, has been tested in randomized trials in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PMID: 36703143). See the choline and inositol guides. Oral studies and an injection The large trials of these vitamins used oral doses, usually far larger than the amounts on the VitalX Blend label; the niacin trials, for example, gave 1,500 to 2,000 mg a day (PMID: 22085343, PMID: 25014686). Because VitalX Blend is sold as a solution in a vial, oral supplement studies of its ingredients do not show what an injection of it would do, and no study measuring that was found in PubMed on 27 October 2026.",
